I’m back from Bonnaroo, my phone got stolen and my sister was pretty awful to me but that doesn’t matter. I saw:

It was amazing but I’m tired and I’m ready to go take about ten showers. I’ve got a lot of journal comics to make and also I want to reevaluate the way I’m living my life. Okay goodbye.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the life I’ve been waiting for is just around the corner. Wouldn’t it be nice if I move to a city like Savannah, or Portland, or LA and all of a sudden it feels just fine. Wouldn’t it be great if I got my act together in time for SPX and all of a sudden everything would just make perfect sense.

Wouldn’t it be cool if my professor was right and that the sum of human knowledge and ability is actually something we’re born with and it just needs to be unlocked.

I feel like if those highways are some sort of hell, then heaven might be warm and crowded music...

I feel like if those highways are some sort of hell, then heaven might be warm and crowded music venues and bars, but not too crowded, with music and food and friendly people. Really good local bands that may never get huge, even though they’re really good and just happy to perform. Stand up comedians who don’t make rape jokes. Bluegrass cover bands. All of those.

One thing I never really liked about central Florida was the way the grass and sky looked together...

One thing I never really liked about central Florida was the way the grass and sky looked together in the summertime, or most times. The grass is too green, the sky is too blue, it’s an unnatural color combination that doesn’t work unless there is some sort of mitigating factor inbetween. Mitigating factors like trees, flowers, other things. But along the highways there are just these long stretches of nothing. Is it farmable?

And to think that if you lived here forever, and hated it, what could you do about it? There is nothing you could do to change that, and that must be the worst feeling in the world, just one long stagnant stretch.

I’d rather live on the coast, or in the swamp, or anywhere where there were more people. Florida is grand and wonderful but those highways are like kryptonite to me.
